Palanan, Isabela Official Local Candidates 2019 Midterm Elections

Two people are running for mayor of Palanan Isabela in the coming 2019 local elections.

Registered voters will elect for the elective local posts in Palanan: the mayor, vice mayor, the Congressman, and the councilors, six in each of the city’s two legislative districts, on May 13, 2019.

Palanan, officially the Municipality of Palanan, is a 1st class municipality in the province of Isabela, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 17,260 people.

Palanan is one of the four (4) remote and isolated coastal towns of Isabela facing the Philippine Sea on the east and separated from the rest of the province by the Sierra Madre Mountains. It is also a suburb of Ilagan City, the provincial capital. There are no roads that connects the town to the rest of province. It can only be reached by a plane or boat ride, or a multi-day hike from the town of San Mariano, also a suburb of Ilagan City.

Guidelines for Verification

  1. The Certified List of Candidates (List), as posted, is merely an initial List and subject to editing.
  2. All candidates are enjoined to check their names, specifically their Names to Appear on the Official Ballot, in the List.
  3. Any request for correction, if allowed, shall be communicated to the Regional Election Director, Provincial Election Supervisor, or Election Officer concerned in writing until 9 November 2018. The Election Officer shall in turn, submit a memorandum to the Law Department, by the fastest means of communication with regard to the request for correction.
  4. The Law Department shall determine whether or not the request for correction is allowed.
  5. The List is subject to the outcome of the various cases/issues pending before the Commission.
