Two people are running for mayor of Santo Tomas Isabela in the coming 2019 local elections.

Registered voters will elect for the elective local posts in Santo Tomas: the mayor, vice mayor, the Congressman, and the councilors, six in each of the city’s two legislative districts, on May 13, 2019.

Santo Tomas, (Ibanag: Ili nat Santo Tomas; Ilokano: Ili ti Santo Tomas; Tagalog: Bayan ng Santo Tomas), officially the Municipality of Santo Tomas, is a 4th class municipality in the province of Isabela, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 23,005 people.

In 1952, Santo Tomas lost 2 barrios when the barrios of Abut and Minagbag were transferred to the newly created town of Mallig. In 1961, those barrios were transferred to the newly created municipality of Quezon

Santo Tomas is a landlocked municipality situated in the northern portion of the province of Isabela. It is bounded to the west by Quezon, to the south by Delfin Albano, to the southeast by Tumauini, to the north and northeast by Cabagan and the Cagayan River.

Guidelines for Verification

  1. The Certified List of Candidates (List), as posted, is merely an initial List and subject to editing.
  2. All candidates are enjoined to check their names, specifically their Names to Appear on the Official Ballot, in the List.
  3. Any request for correction, if allowed, shall be communicated to the Regional Election Director, Provincial Election Supervisor, or Election Officer concerned in writing until 9 November 2018. The Election Officer shall in turn, submit a memorandum to the Law Department, by the fastest means of communication with regard to the request for correction.
  4. The Law Department shall determine whether or not the request for correction is allowed.
  5. The List is subject to the outcome of the various cases/issues pending before the Commission.
