Tumauini, Isabela Official Local Candidates 2019 Midterm Elections

Two people are running for mayor of Tumauini Isabela in the coming 2019 local elections.

Registered voters will elect for the elective local posts in Tumauini: the mayor, vice mayor, the Congressman, and the councilors, six in each of the city’s two legislative districts, on May 13, 2019.

Tumauini, (Ibanag: Ili nat Tumauini; Ilokano: Ili ti Tumauini; Tagalog: Bayan ng Tumauini), officially the Municipality of Tumauini, is a 1st class municipality in the province of Isabela, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 67,650 people.

The Tumauini Church is currently in the tentative list for UNESCO World Heritage Sites under the Baroque Churches of the Philippines (Extension). A proposal has been suggested by scholars to make a separate UNESCO inclusion for the Old Centre of Tumauini which includes the Tumauini Church. The same would be made for other churches listed in UNESCO’s tentative sites, where each town plaza and surrounding heritage buildings would be added. No government agency has yet to take action on the proposal.

Guidelines for Verification

  1. The Certified List of Candidates (List), as posted, is merely an initial List and subject to editing.
  2. All candidates are enjoined to check their names, specifically their Names to Appear on the Official Ballot, in the List.
  3. Any request for correction, if allowed, shall be communicated to the Regional Election Director, Provincial Election Supervisor, or Election Officer concerned in writing until 9 November 2018. The Election Officer shall in turn, submit a memorandum to the Law Department, by the fastest means of communication with regard to the request for correction.
  4. The Law Department shall determine whether or not the request for correction is allowed.
  5. The List is subject to the outcome of the various cases/issues pending before the Commission.
