There’s a new campaign similar to “ALS Ice Bucket Challenge” called “SAF 44 Pin Challenge” but the goal is to raise awareness for the heroism of the Fallen 44.
Police Senior Superintendent Gilbert Cruz is part of the movement. His video of accepting the challenge is now the most watched “SAF 44 Pin Challenge.” It already earned more than 400,000 views in several Facebook pages and users since it was posted last Tuesday, February 4.
The guidelines of the challenge are easy to follow.

A number of police officers also accepted the challenge to help raise awareness of the heroism of the fallen commandos.
Those who make the videos are asked to donate to PNP Special Assistance Fund Account with account number 1862-1027-77 at Land Bank of the Philippines.
In January 25, 2015, a total of 44 members of SAF were killed at Tukanalipao, Mamasapano, Maguindanao, when Special Action Force (SAF) of the Philippine National Police and the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) engaged in battle.
It also led to the deaths of 16 MILF and BIFF members and several civilians, and the death of Zulkifli Abdhir.
#Fallen44 became a worldwide trend on social media site Twitter as an effort to honor the 44 slain SAF members.
