Kawit, Cavite Official Local Candidates 2019 Midterm Elections

Three people are running for mayor of Kawit, Cavite in the coming 2019 local elections.

Registered voters will elect for the elective local posts in Kawit: the mayor, vice mayor, the Congressman, and the councilors, six in each of the city’s two legislative districts, on May 13, 2019.

Kawit, officially the Municipality of Kawit, (Tagalog: Bayan ng Kawit), is a 1st class municipality in the province of Cavite, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 83,466 people.

Formerly known as Cavite El Viejo, it is the location of his home, the Aguinaldo Shrine, where independence from Spain was declared on June 12, 1898. It is also the birthplace of Emilio Aguinaldo, the first President of the Philippines, who from 1895 to 1897, served as the municipality’s chief executive.

Guidelines for Verification

  1. The Certified List of Candidates (List), as posted, is merely an initial List and subject to editing.
  2. All candidates are enjoined to check their names, specifically their Names to Appear on the Official Ballot, in the List.
  3. Any request for correction, if allowed, shall be communicated to the Regional Election Director, Provincial Election Supervisor, or Election Officer concerned in writing until 9 November 2018. The Election Officer shall in turn, submit a memorandum to the Law Department, by the fastest means of communication with regard to the request for correction.
  4. The Law Department shall determine whether or not the request for correction is allowed.
  5. The List is subject to the outcome of the various cases/issues pending before the Commission.
