Tanza, Cavite Official Local Candidates 2019 Midterm Elections

Two people are running for mayor of Tanza, Cavite in the coming 2019 local elections.

Registered voters will elect for the elective local posts in Tanza: the mayor, vice mayor, the Congressman, and the councilors, six in each of the city’s two legislative districts, on May 13, 2019.

Tanza, officially the Municipality of Tanza, (Tagalog: Bayan ng Tanza), is a 1st class highly urbanized municipality in the province of Cavite, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 226,188 people.

It has a land area of 78.24 square kilometres (30.21 sq mi).

Tanza was awarded the “Seal of Good Housekeeping” in 2011 and 2012 and “Seal of Good Local Governance” in 2016 by the Department of Interior and Local Government. The municipality was named 2014 most competitive in economic dynamism by National Competitiveness Council, 8th most populous municipality (2015 NSO Census) and 15th largest Municipality Revenue Earner based on 2016 Bureau of Local Government Finance Financial Report.

Tanza is the home of Cavite Gateway Terminal, the first roll-on, roll-off barge terminal in the Philippines.

Guidelines for Verification

  1. The Certified List of Candidates (List), as posted, is merely an initial List and subject to editing.
  2. All candidates are enjoined to check their names, specifically their Names to Appear on the Official Ballot, in the List.
  3. Any request for correction, if allowed, shall be communicated to the Regional Election Director, Provincial Election Supervisor, or Election Officer concerned in writing until 9 November 2018. The Election Officer shall in turn, submit a memorandum to the Law Department, by the fastest means of communication with regard to the request for correction.
  4. The Law Department shall determine whether or not the request for correction is allowed.
  5. The List is subject to the outcome of the various cases/issues pending before the Commission.
