2014 Best Schools for Teachers Philippines

The Philippine Business for Education (PBEd) released on Monday, February 9, the list of 2014 Best Schools for Teachers based on the LET performance of schools between 2009-2013 and 2014.

PBED has compared the two groups of data for Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) with test-takers passing rate of at least 80% for both elementary and secondary exams and with at least 250 takers.

Based on data provided by PBed, a total of 12 schools are in the list of top performing schools with good LET results for both elementary and secondary education programs. These schools have at least 250 first-time LET takers, with each of them having a minimum 80% passing rate:

Based on the data for first-time takers in elementary LET, a total of 14 schools were now out of the list of the 2009-2013 good performers, hence reducing to a total of 93. Adding the new additional good performers of 186 schools, the new list has now a total of 279 good performers in 2014.

The rationale of the “LET Performance of Schools 2014 Update” is to improve quality of teacher education in the country by:

  1. continuing to monitor the board performance of teacher education institutions (TEIs);
  2. informing parents and students for them to make the right decision in choosing a TEI; and
  3. sustaining research-based policy recommendations to PRC, CHED, Congress, and other stakeholders.
