Fastfood giant Jollibee ran out of its famous fried chicken, coined Chicken Joy in most of its Jollibee outlets in Metro Manila and neighboring provinces. The hashtag #ChickenSad went viral fast after people found out that the fried chicken, along with other dishes such as their pansit palabok and some burgers were sold out.
According to Jollibee on its Facebook page, the company is currently upgrading its system, which has resulted in the lack of certain supplies. To respond to the netizens who vented their disappointment on micro blogging site Twitter, Jollibee said that these famous dishes will soon be available. “Rest assured that we are committed to having all our products available again within a few days in all our affected stores.”
The company also released a statement saying that the limited supply is just temporary.
“A number of Jollibee branches in Metro Manila and a few stores in surrounding cities are currently operating on a limited menu. This is a result of our ongoing major systems upgrade which we are undertaking to further improve our service delivery. Rest assured that this is only temporary,” Harvey Ong, Jollibee VP for Marketing, said in the statement.
“We are committed to having all our products – including Chickenjoy, Jolly Spaghetti and Yumburgers – available again in all our affected stores soonest. We would like to apologize for this inconvenience, and thank our customers for bearing with us,” he added.
