Malacanang has declared special non-working days in the NCR (Metro Manila) on January 15, 16, and 19, 2015 due to the visit of Pope Francis.

The announcement was based on Proclamation No. 936 signed by Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. He said, “In view of the visit of the Pope, the Head of State of the Vatican City, I, Paquito Ochoa Jr., by authority of his excellency, Benigno S. Aquino III, do hereby declare January 15, 16, and 19, 2015 as special (non-working) days in the NCR.”

Proclamation No. 936 was signed yesterday, 22nd day of December, 2015.

Reports said Pope Francis, Jorge Bergoglio in real life, will celebrate Eucharistic masses everyday, including in Tacloban where he will visit the victims of typhoon Yolanda.

DECLARING JANUARY 15, 16 AND 19, 2015, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAYS IN THE NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION (NCR)

In view of the visit of the Pope, the Head of State of the Vatican City, I, PAQUITO N. OCHOA JR., Executive Secretary, by authority of His Excellency, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, do hereby declare January 15, 16 and 19, 2015, as special (non-working) days in the National Capital Region (NCR).

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
