The Faculty Center at the University of Philippines’ Diliman Campus was hit by a fire early Friday morning (April 1).

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) posted the fire alert on its official Twitter page at 1:46 a.m. Friday (April 1), saying the fire has already reached fifth alarm as of 1:40 a.m. It means that all fire stations in neighboring areas are required to send manpower complement.

Netizens immediately traced the fire at the Faculty Center, also known as Rizal Hall (Bulwagang Rizal), that houses most of the Department offices of the College of Arts and Letters (CAL) and most of the faculty rooms of CAL and of the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP).

A tweet from the ABS-CBN News said night shift guard Edgardo Ducocin has reportedly been injured from the fire.
