Host and actor Billy Crawford was arrested and jailed on Sunday morning, September 7, after allegedly becoming violent at a police precinct in Fort Bonifacio Global City, GMA News reported.
The 32-year-old actor was reportedly detained at Police Community Precinct 7 in Taguig City after he punched a female desk officer and punched and damaged a glass door of the precinct, GMA News reported on Sunday.
Authorities witnessed the actor getting agitated when the female desk officer told him he would be brought to police headquarters. Crawford was with a woman and arrived at a police precinct at around 4 a.m. to ask for assistance.
Crawford may face charges of malicious mischief, resisting arrest, direct assault and disobedience of agent of authority.
Meanwhile, Coleen Garcia came to his defense belying an earlier report of GMA News that Billy hit a lady police officer.
Garcia, through her official Twitter account, asked GMA News to “stop spreading lies.”
“You and I both know that Billy didn’t punch anyone last night. I doubt that he would ever hit a woman,” she said.
“As for the ‘unidentified woman’ he was with? He was with three of my best friends. And yes, two of them are women. No need to put malice in that,” she added.
