She responded, “Sad that the views of some of our opinion makers are still very traditional.”

“Patronage, and not honest and dedicated service, remains the measure of how good public officials are,” she added.

“Might be the reason why, most of the time, we do not really elect the best people into office,” she said.

Based on her series of Facebook posts, Cong. Robredo and her children spent their holiday season in Mindanao, contrary to the other representatives in her province.

Her remarks to the radio anchor’s comment against her got the approval of her followers.

“That’s what traditional politicians do. All form; No substance… And that radio commentator? He must have benefited from the politicians’ Christmas bonanza. Good thing you have a good head and a kind heart to know how best to serve the people. We thank God for law makers like you,” Emily Quevedo-Duterte commented.

“That radio commentator should be condemned in public. Let him realize our politics has to change radically and has to be done NOW…,” Gerardo Baroy said.

Paulo Peña Panergayo said, “Couldn’t agree more! Tss. They can’t be honest and dedicated po kasi, Madam Congressman. That’s the least thing that they can do po kasi para masabing ‘may ginagawa’ sila. Sadyang ‘show-off’ lang ang mga ganyan.”

“What gift could be more than your presence in the heart of your constituents? What partying could be happier than you listening to their stories? You have led the people to the right direction and that made the difference,” Jessie Savilla commented.

“To your constituents and to many of us who keep track of your selfless, dedicated service, you are the best madam Lenie. Cheer up. You are doing great!,” a certain Vic Reyes Vicmudo commented.

“Hope you don’t get discouraged, Ma’am. Please continue what you and Sir Jesse have started. The balance of life comes from the good and bad, the truth and lies, the happy and sad. Happy New Year po to you and your family!,” Alesah Villalon said.
