Roxanne Cabañero, the second woman who accused host Vhong Navarro of rape, is one of the Miss World Philippines 2014 candidates.

The partial official candidates for Miss World Philippines 2014 were introduced Wednesday, September 10 at the Raven Boutique Club in the Penthouse of W Building 5th in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.
A total of eighteen (18) contestants were presented during the event, but a report from Norman Norman said there were supposed to be twenty-one (21) names to be announced, but three of the ladies still needed to secure permission from their parents.
A press presentation scheduled next week will expect four (4) more beauties coming from the province, according to Ms. Cory Quirino. Thus, there will be a total of twenty-five (25) in the roster all in all.
Roxanne revealed to Rappler her reason for joining the competition.
“For almost 7 months I have been hiding myself. And I think this is a great opportunity for me to just go out there and really reclaim the confidence that I lose 7 months ago because i was really publicly humiliated,” she said.
“And right now i just want to follow my dream. I’ve been a beauty queen by heart. What made me decide [to join the contest] because of reclaiming my confidence and the support of my boyfriend.”
Roxanne Cabañero suffered a lot issues after her accusation went viral that Navarro raped her last April 24,2010. Aside from her criminal case of perjury for allegedly lying in her rape complaint against Navarro, Roxanne is also facing a P1.6 million damage suit filed by Slimmers World International (SWI) at the Makati Regional Trial Court.
