The 2014 Miss Earth has crowned Jamie Herrellas winner at the University of the Philippines Theater in Diliman, Quezon City on Saturday, November 29, 2014.
In the defining moment of the next Miss Earth, the board gave the Final 8 each with different question during the Q&A Portion.
Here were the questions thrown by different judges:
Slovak Republic’s question from Dennis Perez: Have beauty pageants lost their relevance? Why or why not?
Answer: In my opinion, all girls in this pageant are beautiful, but also they have something inside that is very important…it’s not just about looking good, but doing good.
Venezuela’s question from Richie de Quina: “What is the significance of beauty pageants in this time and age?”
Answer: It’s [the pageant] an initiative to protect and save the earth…care for the world, more respect for the earth, to do it with love. Together, we can save the planet.
Question for Ms USA: You’ve been doing great things the past month. What’s the best among all of them?
Miss USA: My favorite has been the school tours that we’ve gone to, I personally love little kids…if we’re able to put smiles on their faces, that makes us happy. Thank you so much, Miss Earth organization for the opportunity.
Question for Ms Brazil: “When can you say that a woman is truly empowered?”
Miss Brazil: A woman is empowered if she can do what she want. It comes from the inside, from the heart.
Question for Miss PH: If you win tonight’s crown, what will you do to help reverse effects of global warming?
Miss Philippines: Global warming has been known to be a long, overdue issue…I will use my title to inspire others, help our environment, and we start with the kids…the kids are the people of tomorrow.
Question for Miss Russia: So how has this pageant changed the way you look at the environment after you’ve joined?
Miss Russia: After this pageant I will promote eco-tourism all over the world…I want to create my own organization which will connect with the different world organizations. We will care for nature, our environment…I want to create something for children, because it’s our future.
Question for Miss Spain: “What is the best gift you can give to mother earth?”
Miss Spain: “I think what we should do is…do step by step,..to see around ourselves, and try to do it better.
