Quezon, Quezon Official Local Candidates 2019 Midterm Elections

Two people are running for mayor of Quezon, Quezon in the coming 2019 local elections.

Registered voters will elect for the elective local posts in Quezon: the mayor, vice mayor, the Congressman, and the councilors, six in each of the city’s two legislative districts, on May 13, 2019.

Quezon, officially the Municipality of Quezon, (Tagalog: Bayan ng Quezon), is a 5th class municipality in the province of Quezon, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 15,228 people.

The municipality was named after Manuel L. Quezon, the second President of the Philippines, first President of the Philippine Commonwealth, and the former governor. It is home to the recently started Yubakan Festival and a few speakers of the critically endangered Inagta Alabat language, one of the most endangered languages in the world as listed by UNESCO.

Guidelines for Verification

  1. The Certified List of Candidates (List), as posted, is merely an initial List and subject to editing.
  2. All candidates are enjoined to check their names, specifically their Names to Appear on the Official Ballot, in the List.
  3. Any request for correction, if allowed, shall be communicated to the Regional Election Director, Provincial Election Supervisor, or Election Officer concerned in writing until 9 November 2018. The Election Officer shall in turn, submit a memorandum to the Law Department, by the fastest means of communication with regard to the request for correction.
  4. The Law Department shall determine whether or not the request for correction is allowed.
  5. The List is subject to the outcome of the various cases/issues pending before the Commission.
