Tuy, Batangas Official Local Candidates 2019 Midterm Elections

Two people are running for mayor of Tuy, Batangas in the coming 2019 local elections.

Registered voters will elect for the elective local posts in Tuy: the mayor, vice mayor, the Congressman, and the councilors, six in each of the city’s two legislative districts, on May 13, 2019.

Tuy, officially the Municipality of Tuy, (Tagalog: Bayan ng Tuy), is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Batangas, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 43,743 people.[3]

The patron of Tuy is Saint Vincent Ferrer, the patron of construction workers, whose feast day is celebrated on May 8.

Tuy is located between Balayan and Nasugbu. It is also situated between 2 rivers: in the north, Tuy town proper’s boundary is the Mataywanac/Salipit River, while in the south, the Tuy town proper’s boundary is the Obispo River.

Guidelines for Verification

  1. The Certified List of Candidates (List), as posted, is merely an initial List and subject to editing.
  2. All candidates are enjoined to check their names, specifically their Names to Appear on the Official Ballot, in the List.
  3. Any request for correction, if allowed, shall be communicated to the Regional Election Director, Provincial Election Supervisor, or Election Officer concerned in writing until 9 November 2018. The Election Officer shall in turn, submit a memorandum to the Law Department, by the fastest means of communication with regard to the request for correction.
  4. The Law Department shall determine whether or not the request for correction is allowed.
  5. The List is subject to the outcome of the various cases/issues pending before the Commission.
