Malvar, Batangas Official Local Candidates 2019 Midterm Elections

Two people are running for mayor of Malvar, Batangas in the coming 2019 local elections.

Registered voters will elect for the elective local posts in Malvar: the mayor, vice mayor, the Congressman, and the councilors, six in each of the city’s two legislative districts, on May 13, 2019.

Malvar, officially the Municipality of Malvar, (Tagalog: Bayan ng Malvar), is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Batangas, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 56,270 people.

The municipality was named after General Miguel Malvar, the last Filipino general to surrender to the United States in the Philippines in 1902.

Located 68 kilometres (42 mi) south of Manila and accessible by the STAR Tollway, Malvar is surrounded by Tanauan City to the north, Santo Tomas to the east, Lipa City to the south and Balete to the west. With the expansion of Metro Manila, Malvar is now part of the Manila conurbation (which reaches Lipa City).

Guidelines for Verification

  1. The Certified List of Candidates (List), as posted, is merely an initial List and subject to editing.
  2. All candidates are enjoined to check their names, specifically their Names to Appear on the Official Ballot, in the List.
  3. Any request for correction, if allowed, shall be communicated to the Regional Election Director, Provincial Election Supervisor, or Election Officer concerned in writing until 9 November 2018. The Election Officer shall in turn, submit a memorandum to the Law Department, by the fastest means of communication with regard to the request for correction.
  4. The Law Department shall determine whether or not the request for correction is allowed.
  5. The List is subject to the outcome of the various cases/issues pending before the Commission.
