Ganassi, Lanao del Sur Official Local Candidates 2019 Midterm Elections

Three people are running for mayor of Ganassi, Lanao del Sur in the coming 2019 local elections.

Registered voters will elect for the elective local posts in
Ganassi, Lanao del Sur: the mayor, vice mayor, the Congressman, and the councilors, six in each of the city’s two legislative districts, on May 13, 2019.

Ganassi, officially the Municipality of Ganassi, is a 4th class municipality in the province of Lanao del Sur, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 23,016 people.

The municipality used to host the ‘finest example of a traditional torogan’ according to Dr. Jesus T. Peralta of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts. In January 2016, a media team found that the Laguindab torogan still stands in Ganassi, though it is badly damaged. A conservation effort is needed to rehabilitate the Laguindab torogan, one of the most outstanding royal houses built in the entire Philippines.

Guidelines for Verification

  1. The Certified List of Candidates (List), as posted, is merely an initial List and subject to editing.
  2. All candidates are enjoined to check their names, specifically their Names to Appear on the Official Ballot, in the List.
  3. Any request for correction, if allowed, shall be communicated to the Regional Election Director, Provincial Election Supervisor, or Election Officer concerned in writing until 9 November 2018. The Election Officer shall in turn, submit a memorandum to the Law Department, by the fastest means of communication with regard to the request for correction.
  4. The Law Department shall determine whether or not the request for correction is allowed.
  5. The List is subject to the outcome of the various cases/issues pending before the Commission.
