Local government units and schools are beginning to declare class suspensions for October 13, 2017 (Friday), due to inclement weather conditions.
State weather bureau reported that Tropical Storm Odette has made landfall early Friday morning over Sta. Ana, Cagayan as it maintains its strength but moves slightly slower.
Bagyong Odette packs maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph as it moves westward at 26 kph.
Signal number 2 is hoisted over Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan group of islands, Apayao, and Ilocos Norte.
Meanwhile, signal number 1 is raised over Isabela, Abra, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, and Ilocos Sur.
The estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within the 350 km diameter of the Tropical Storm.
The state weather bureau reports that “Odette” is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) between Friday evening and early Saturday morning.
Sea travel remains risky over the seaboards of Northern Luzon.
At 3:40 a.m., PAGASA, in its advisory, said heavy rains with lightning and strong winds due to thunderstorms are expected over Metro Manila, #Rizal, Laguna, Bulacan, Bataan within the next 3 hours.
The above conditions are being experienced in Cavite (Tanza, Ternate, Maragondon, Alfonso), Batangas (Nasugbu, Lian, Tuy) which may persist within 2 hours and may affect nearby areas.
