The Department of Education (DepEd), in collaboration of the local government units, barangay officials and parent teacher-associations will start its Early Registration program for the academic school year 2015-2016 on January 24 (Saturday) to February 27, 2015 (Friday) with this year’s theme “Makapag-aral ay Karapatan Mo, Magpalista!”
According to DepEd Order 1 s. 2015, namely called “Declaring January 24, 2015 as Commencement of Early Registration for SY 2015-2016”, the early registration ensures that all school-aged children and even the out of school youth are in school with the end goal of completing their basic education.
The Department also highlights an estimate of the incoming number of students per school year, which serves as a basis for preparation to address potential gaps that may arise even before the regular enrolment on June.
The DepEd reminds the learners to bring their Birth certificate (BC) for the registration but if the student is unable to bring his or her BC, it may be submitted by June or anytime within the school year. At the same time, learners who have dropped out from elementary or secondary schools who want to be enrolled in the formal system must bring their report cards from the previous school year or if it is not available, a certification signed by the parent or guardian can be presented.
Furthermore, the DepEd emphasized that there are no fees required for the registration.
