CHED In-Demand Courses 2014-2018

The Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) has released the official list of in-demand courses for A.Y. 2014-2015 to A.Y. 2017-2018.

Incoming freshman students are encouraged to enroll these courses labeled by CHEd as priority courses as they deemed fit within the next five (5) years as agreed upon by the Interagency Committe meetings held on September 30 and October 24, 2013.

CHED In-Demand Courses 2014-2018

The said meetings were attended by representatives from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC), and Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities (PACU).

Topping on the list of priority courses are agriculture and related fields, engineering, science and math, information technology (IT), teacher education, and health sciences.

The CHEd Priority Courses for AY 2014-2015 to AY 2017-2018 include the following fields with percentage of allocations:

  • teacher education (10%),
  • health sciences (10%)
  • arts and humanities (5%)
  • social and behavioral sciences (5%)
  • business administration and related courses (5%)

  • others (3%, to be determined by each Regional Office)
