Most of us have probably heard of the saying “whatever the mind can conceive, it can achieve.” This quotation profoundly manifested in the triumph of the top ten board passers of the March 2018 Physician Board Exam as officially declared by the Board of Medicine and the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
It is indeed a fact that the family and relatives of all these board passers and most especially the topnotchers would be very eager to celebrate such momentous event. But more than that, I think the happiest group about this result are those who belong to the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Why? Well, three of their co-members made it to the list of the topnotchers.
The Top 1, Jerald Lalaguna Pelayo of University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center garnered a rating of 88.17%! Aside from of course being an excellent student, he also manages to do some blogging activities. This is also amazingly not the first time that he excelled at the national level because way back in 2011, he was also the same man who got the top 1 in the nursing board examination!

A native of Masbate, Pelayo studied Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the Mountain View College, an Adventist school in Bukidnon.
But one thing unique about this person? He is simply a man of prayer and God! He once posted in his :
“As for me, I would seek God, and to God would I commit my cause, who does great things and unsearchable, marvelous things without number!” ~Job 5:8,9 #FaithIsTheVictory #TheBattleBelongsToTheLord
Indeed, all his sacrifices and hard work paid-off, big time! I am just sure that this young man here would bring honor not only to his family but to the Seventh-Day Adventist Community.
Meanwhile, the two top 9 passers Don Hale Ipapo Hilario of Manila Central University-Coloocan City and Shannen Kaye Bumalay Apolinario of Far Eastern University-Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation got a rating of 85.50% each. Both of them are also members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Isn’t amazing how three people with the same religion could gather together be part of the topnotchers out of many who tried? Even if it is a big coincidence or not, this is still something that does not happen every day and it merely deserves an appreciation!
Congratulations to all the board passers and for the topnotchers of this year and thanks to Adventist University of the Philippines for informing us of the good news!
