As early as Thursday, officials announced the suspension of classes in some parts of Visayas and Mindanao, including Cebu City, due to bad weather conditions from Tropical Depression Queenie.

Here is a list of areas and schools with no classes on Thursday, Nov. 27. This list will be updated as reports come in.

  • – classes from elementary and secondary public schools under jurisdiction of DepEd Cebu Province (not included: Mandaue City, Talisay City and Danao City)
  • – classes in all levels in public schools
  • – classes in all public elementary schools
  • – classes in all public schools

In its severe weather bulletin issued at 10:30 P.M., Wednesday 26 November 2014, PAGASA said Bagyong Queenie has maintained its strength and is now traversing the Bohol Sea. To be exact, tropical depression Queenie was located at 60 km East Northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, as of 10 p.m. It is packing maximum winds of 55 kph near the center and is forecast to move West Northwest at 24 kph.

Twenty areas have been placed under public storm signal no. 1 including Cebu City, Bohol, and Southern Leyte.
