After passing parts of Surigao del Sur, Bagyong Queenie has maintained its strength and is now traversing the Bohol Sea, state weather agency PAGASA said.
PAGASA said Quennie is expected to cross Southern Cebu and Negros Oriental by Thursday morning.
Glenda is forecast to Southern Negros Occidental before noon today. By Friday morning, it is forecast to be at 100 km North of Puerto Princesa City. It will be outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Saturday morning.
PAGASA said that as of 4 a.m., Queenie was estimated to be in the vicinity of Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
It packed maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center, and is forecast to move west-northwest at 24 kph.
Storm Signals
Under Signal No. 1 are: Palawan, the Calamian Group of Islands, Southern Leyte, Bohol, Southern Cebu Including Cebu City, Negros Oriental, Southern Negros Occidental, Siquijor Guimaras Island, Iloilo, Antique, Surigao del Norte, Agusan del Norte, Dinagat Province, Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Bukidnon, and Zamboanga del Norte.
Residents in low lying and mountainous areas of the provinces with PSWS#1 as well as the rest of Mindanao are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.
Bagyong Quennie may bring rainfall of 7 – 15 mm per hour (moderate – heavy) within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Depression.
“Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the Eastern seaboards of Luzon and of Visayas,” PAGASA said.
