Philippines will play against clash Chinese Taipei in the semifinals of the 19th Asian Senior Women’s Volleyball Championship on Wednesday in what promises to be aiming to avenge their loss from Thailand last Tuesday.
Both teams suffered from a straight 3-set loss against South Korea, Philippines last Sunday while Chinese Taipei last Monday.
Philippines also lost to Thailand last Tuesday but the latter struggled in the opening set to power past the host side in thrilling straight sets 25-21 25-14 25-20 to go up against the Incheon Asian Games champions Korea in the Wednesday’s semi-finals.
Philippines are expected to win today’s competition based on statistics.
Winner of today’s match will vie for the 5th place against winner between Vietnam and Kazakhstan, also scheduled today.
