While the President’s second SONA had surprises left and right, the reality is that there have been promises from the first SONA that have not been addressed. These broken promises serve as the powder keg of disillusionment that some sectors feel. Some sectors feel left behind and led astray by the promises that Duterte enchanted them with during the campaign period.
While the government still is strong and enjoys majority support, something tells me that from this point forward, the honeymoon period is over and the reality of a Duterte administration will be felt by all sectors of society. Whether it would be good or bad, proactive or not, still remains to be seen. It’s time to gear up for another year and from the looks of things, it’s bound to get bumpy.
