Governor Edgardo Tallado will be possibly suspended amid allegations that the married official had an affair with another woman, the Civil Service Commission said citing an article. The accusation puts Egay Tallado at the center of a sex scandal for the first time in his tenure as the Camarines Norte chief.
Tallado is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with an unnamed girl.
The alleged affair was exposed when her wife Josefina “Josie” Tallado reportedly discovered that his husband has and with another woman, according to ABS-CBN News. Josie, who was reported missing by the governor, then reportedly appeared on Umagang Kay Ganda television program revealing why she left her home with her friend Darlene Francisco, who was mistakenly called “aide” of Mrs. Tallado by the TV reporters.
Civil Service Commission (CSC) Chairman Francisco T. Duque III said the governor will be suspended citing Revised Uniform Rules on Administrative Cases in the Civil Service. Disgraceful and immoral conduct is punishable by suspension of six months and one day to one year for the first offense.
Meanwhile, Interior Secretary Mar Roxas said Tuesday his department is studying the possible accountabilities of Camarines Norte Governor Edgardo Tallado after photos supposedly indicating the local official’s extramarital affair leaked online, said GMA News Online.
At the Camp Crame press briefing, Roxas said both the governor’s and Josie’s sides were asking for the DILG’s intervention on the matter.
