The MMFF 2018 box office results for opening day (December 25, 2018) are released with rankings of the films of the Metro Manila Film Festival 2018.
Spokesperson Noel Ferrer of MMFF 2018 in an interview today on DZIQ AM radio revealed that Vice Ganda, Dingdong Dantes and Richard Gutierrez’s “Fantastica: The Princess, The Prince and The Perya” topped the box office.
Aside from Fantastica: The Princess, The Prince and The Perya leading the box office, Coco Martin, Vic Sotto and Maine Mendoza’s “Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles’ also led the list.
“Ang sinabi sa akin, ganito na lang ang mangyayari kasi kawawa naman ‘yung nagla-lag behind. I can safely say that we are really so happy and we are going to the target na P1 billion. Kaya lang, gusto sana natin equal distribution hanggang kaya ng lahat ng mga pelikula. Pero as expected, ‘yung mga pelikula ni Vice Ganda at saka ni Coco Martin at Vic Sotto ang nangunguna sa takilya,” Ferrer said.
“‘Yung pangatlo, medyo malayo, ‘yung kay Anne Curtis,” he added.
The eight official entries to the MMFF 2018 are “The Girl in the Orange Dress,” “Aurora,” “Mary, Marry Me,” “Otlum,” “Rainbow’s Sunset,” “One Great Love,” “Fantastica: The Princess, The Prince and The Perya,” and “Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles.”
The Metro Manila Film Festival 2018 runs from December 25 until January 7, 2019. Held annually since 1975, the festival exclusively showcases Pinoy films in local cinemas—except in 3D and IMAX theaters.
