SHINee’s Jonghyun was reportedly found unconscious in an apartment unit at 6 p.m. KST (5 p.m. Manila time). Several reports stated that he was found dead.
He was reportedly moved to a hospital and his current condition is unknown.

According to Koreaboo, coal briquettes is a common method of suicide in Korea. Trapping yourself in a room with lit coal briquettes release carbon monoxide. This leads to carbon monoxide poisoning and will result in death.
SHINee is a South Korean boy group formed by S.M. Entertainment in 2008. The group is composed of five members: Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho and Taemin. The band is considered as one of the best live vocalists in K-pop and are known for their highly synchronized and complex dance routines and were awarded the Best Dance Performance Award at the Mnet Asian Music Awards three times in a row for their dance performances to “Sherlock”, “Dream Girl” and “View”.
Shinee has performed in the Philippines to promote Korean culture and peace at the One K Global Peace Concert held in March 2017 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
