Netizens are searching the internet including the Facebook search and Twitter if classes are suspended on March 19, 2018 due to a massive transport strike set by the Pinagkaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operators Nationwide (PISTON) on Monday.
Google Trends data reveal that there was a concerning spike in certain Google searches before Monday, March 19, 2018.
GMA News report said PISTON is expecting 60,000 jeepney drivers to join the strike in Laguna, Cavite, Rizal, Bulacan, Batangas and Northern Mindanao.
PISTON leader George San Mateo revealed that the main rally areas will be held from 6 am to 4 pm at Alabang in Muntinlupa; Novaliches and Cubao in Quezon City; Monumento in Caloocan, and Anda Circle in the City of Manila.

San Mateo said they are holding the transport strike to protest the government’s public utility vehicle modernization program, which kicked off in January this year with the phaseout of old passenger jeepneys.
He said the “anti-poor” program will affect thousands of jeepney drivers and operators nationwide.
