Classes have been suspended on December 15 as Typhoon Nona (Melor) continued to pound parts of Luzon with strong winds and heavy rains.

According to the 4:00 pm weather bulletin of PAGASA, the eye of Typhoon “#NonaPH” was located based on all available data including Virac doppler radar in the vicinity of Bulusan, Sorsogon (12.7ºN, 124.1ºE) with maximum sustained winds of 150 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 185 kph.
It is forecast to move West at 17 kph.
It further added that stormy weather will be experienced over Bicol region, CALABARZON, Samar provinces, Mindoro provinces, Marinduque, Romblon and the island of Lubang and Biliran with rough to very rough seas. Rains with gusty winds is expected over Metro Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, Southern Zambales, Bataan, Coron, Aklan, Capiz, Northern Antique, Northern Iloilo, Northern Negros Occidental, Leyte, Northern Cebu including Camotes and Bantayan island. Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over the rest of Visayas and Mindanao while light rains is expected over Batanes and the island of Calayan and Babuyan. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstomrs will prevail over the rest of Luzon.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast to north will prevail over Luzon, Visayas and Eastern Mindanao. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northwest to west with slight to moderate seas.
