At least 31 schools in Quezon City will suspend classes this coming Monday, July 27, for President Benigno Aquino III’s State of the Nation Address (SONA), the Department of Education said Thursday.
The DepEd posted on its Twitter account a memorandum from the Quezon City Division of City Schools indicating 20 elementary and 11 high schools are suspending classes July 27.
Schools to be affected by the suspension are:

- Balara Elementary School
- Fairview Elementary School
- Lagro Elementary School
- New Era Elementary School
- Holy Spirit Elementary School
- Payatas B Elementary School
- Payatas C Elementary School
- San Diego Elementary School
- Old Balara Elementary School
- Dona Juana Elementary School
- West Fairview Elementary School
- North Fairview Elementary School
- Commonwealth Elementary School
- Benigno Aquino Elementary School
- Lupang Pangako Elementary School
- Bagong Silangan Elementary School
- Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School
- Melencio M. Castelo Elementary School
- Pres. Corazon Aquino Elementary School
Secondary:
- Commonwealth High School
- Batasan Hills National High School
- Judge Feliciano Belmonte High School
- Holy Spirit National High School
- Lagro High School
- North Fairview High School
- Bagong Silangan High School
- Culiat High School
- New Era High School
- Justice Cecilia Munos Palma High School

Colleges and Universities
- Miriam College – work and classes in all levels
- Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) – Grade schools only (afternoon class)

Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista on Saturday announced class suspensions in all levels for Monday, July 27.
Meanwhile, heads of colleges and universities in Quezon City and nearby areas may order the suspension of classes if the traffic and peace-and-order situation at the SONA may be “detrimental.”
